A bold move by a committed client to provide seasonal activity in the North Canterbury red zone area saw Cherie engage with the community and local rūnanga. Through discussions, investigations and hui, Cherie gained trust and aligned aspirations to make this project a reality.
The goal was to secure economic prosperity for the community, balanced with environmentally sustainable actions to ensure the client would leave the space better than they found it, at season’s end.
With two successful seasons, the client has received positive feedback from participating community groups. “It’s great to have such a fun activity out our way, and knowing they are teaching our tamariki water safety and water quality is of course an added bonus”
