Project Description

Joseph and Associates provided the project management services for the Punakaiki Rocks hotel – twenty four hotel units constructed adjacent to the State Highway. Involved in all development and construction planning aspects of the project, made significant recommendations to the form and structural aspects and identified cost efficient alternative solutions.

Godley Head Coastal Defence Battery

Built in 1939, the Awaroa/ Godley Head coastal defence battery sits atop a 120-metre-high cliff, and is ranked as one of New Zealand’s top coastal defence heritage sites. When the time came post-Christchurch earthquakes to look towards restoration, the Department of Conservation commissioned heritage experts Joseph & Associates to manage the project.

Franz Josef Hot Pools

Create a commercial but intimate pool operation placed within a remote rainforest. Provide tourists with an additional attraction to the glacier and a reason to extend their stay in the village. The facility needed to be functional, well-designed, combining client vision, engineering excellence and requiring minimal maintenance, leaving the rainforest as if it had never been touched.

Pegasus Hot Springs Resort

The vision for the Pegasus Resort is a high-quality tourist destination which provides a parklands-style par 72, 18-hole championship Golf Course, Spa/Wellness and Hot Pool facility alongside visitor accommodation, Country Club and mixed used retail and hospitality.
