Project Brief
The Christchurch Adventure Park has been designed as the pre-eminent adventure center in the Southern Hemisphere.
It offers world-class mountain biking facilities and services, four dual high speed zip lines, rock climbing, hiking & running trails, a mountain coaster, accommodation and food and beverages services – amongst other things.
The Park will be an “anchor” tourist attraction for Christchurch and an effective stimulus to the local and national economies.
The Challenge
Our clients China Construction Bank, Leisure Investments NZ Limited and Select Evolution came to us with the concept of the Christchurch Adventure Park. This project involved a unique combination of funding from the Crown, Council, Overseas investment and funding from the Bank.
The challenge for Joseph & Associates was to provide cost reporting and drawdown certification for the key financier, China Construction Bank.
The Solution
Joseph & Associates’ undertook to provide the requisite financial reporting and provided Quantity Surveying assistance throughout the course of construction.
The project was awarded Debt Deal of the Year in 2017 for the successes the financial arrangements that ultimately led to the development of a world class facility.
Christchurch Adventure Park also took home commercial architecture awards in 2017.
